Four-Pipe Fan Coil Units with Cooling tower + chiller in economizer mode and highly efficeint boiler
The proposal is to replace the existing HVAC system with independent fan coils, factory installed with low-wattage circulators connected to plants through a network of single pipe loops. These loops would have one for heating and another for cooling – both capable of operating at the same time. The circulators would help provide constant and predictable flow which would further increase the system performance while saving energy.
Switching the mechanical equipment from a decentralized system to a centralized system would affect the projects’ structure. The cooling tower would be placed on the rooftop which would need to be adjusted structurally. This cooling tower would be used in combination with the central chiller.
Structural Impact
Acoutics Impact
In addition to this depth proposal, an acoustics breadth would be used to analyze the HVAC noise impact. Switching the mechanical systems can later the minimum noise criterion for the different spaces within the building. Proper building enclosure solutions and acoustical analysis would be done to improve the acoustical performance of the building.
